My name is Derrick Szuszkiel and I am a professional writer with a desire to break into the advertising industry as a copywriter or content writer. Writing is the one creative act that I can confidently say that I've done for the majority of my life. I began to hone this skill into a career when I began my BA in English Literature at the University of Calgary. Since graduation, my passion has been sharpening my writing skills into laser-like precision. I am currently working on a certificate in professional writing with a focus on business and technical writing. I have acquired about two years of content writing experience from freelancing with Mark-A-Techs in Calgary and completing a ten-month internship with RMV Publications in Canmore Alberta. In that time I have learned how to write for several platforms including online content, magazine features, and website copy.

Welcome to my online portfolio. Here you will be able to see a linked bibliography of some of my written works. This is just a sample of the 30+ pieces of writing I did for RMV Publications. I have also provided some pictures of the print projects I was involved in. I wrote two features and several short pieces spread throughout these three magazines. I was also involved with the editing and fact-checking of all these print publications along with a bit of document design work.
